AEREI FRANCESI (Ali Straniere in Italia No 5)
Giancarlo Garello
Book 5 in the series of Foreign aircraft in Italian Service
Italian and English text
From a review on Aerostories.org:
As a result of the Allied landings in North Africa and the invasion of the Free Zone in France that immediately followed, a number of aircraft from the Armistice Air Force were requisitioned and put into service by the Italian military aviation, the Regia Aeronautica . Bloch 152, Dewoitine D.520, Potez, Breguet, LeO, Morane 406 and many other support and training aircraft served for several years not only in Italy, but also in Syria. In total, nearly 600 aircraft changed hands and were used in combat.
The history of these planes is relatively unknown and it is up to an Italian publisher to finally tell the story in this entirely bilingual work.
In addition to a very rich collection of photos, often unpublished, there are 18 full-page color profiles; designers will find an original source of inspiration there.
The two annexes provide details of the captured aircraft, with the registrations and serial numbers of the aircraft precisely identified. Soft cover, 71 pages.
